Camera Comparison Between TECNO Spark 5 Pro and Spark 5

TECNO Mobile recently introduced a new addition to their budget-friendly smartphone dubbed the TECNO Spark 5 Pro, which like its direct predecessors; TECNO Spark 5, and Spark 5 Air, the TECNO Spark 5 Pro also comes in two variants; 3GB+ 64GB, and 4GB + 128GB.

Seeing how both devices come with AI Quad rear cameras, here is a camera comparison between the TECNO Spark 5 Pro, and Spark 5 to see which performs better.

VIDEO TEST: we start off with video tests on both smartphones; with rear cameras set to the maximum resolution (shooting at 1080P.) with so much sunlight both devices look really good (at least for a budget smartphone, and their price tag).

However, from the caption below, you will notice that the TECNO Spark 5 has a better feel to it, although the TECNO Spark 5 Pro looks a tad bit dimmer in terms of brightness, Still the TECNO Spark 5 Pro represented the colors better.

An added advantage the Spark 5 Pro has over the Spark 5is the ‘Slo-mo Mode’ with which you can shoot Slo-mo videos at 480P, but there are lots of noises when used in lowlight situations and both devices do not support video stabilization.

FRONT FACING CAMERA TEST: from the front camera test caption below between both spark devices, you will notice the skin tone from the TECNO Spark 5 Pro is quite contrasted as opposed to the brighter feel observed on the Spark 5 which is looking too bright, and not true to life. The spark 5 pro is contrasted, and I like the general look, and premium feels of the device.

Taking a look at the low light test of the front-facing camera of both devices, from the caption below, you can tell that the TECNOspark 5 has a slight noise, whereas the TECNO spark 5 pro has an artificial smoothening, although I would say the spark 5 does well in low-light situations.

REAR CAMERA TEST: This is where the TECNO spark 5 13MP cameras goes toe-to-toe with spark 5 pro 16MP camera, despite both devices being budget-friendly devices, they produce amazing results in lighting conditions. However, as things tend to change via their pixels, the pixel begins to look more superior on the TECNOSpark 5 Pro, especially in close up shots via the main sensors.

An example from the caption below, zooming into the images further proves that the spark 5 pro performed better in terms of overall focus, color accuracy, and sharp details. The only edge I feel the spark 5 has over the spark 5 pro is the brightness.

Taking another look at both devices’ rear cameras you will observe from the caption below that the spark 5 spots a vibrant tone, while the spark 5 pro looks more true to life. To further buttress my point, my thumb is not red unlike the reddish tone portrayed on spark 5.

Moving on, one noticeable thing about the TECNO Spark 5pro is its tweaked camera focus; the majority of us know that large sensors equal big depth of field, so with the spark 5 pro you can actually get nicely blurred backgrounds without having to use the portrait mode.
